“First a drop,
then a pour.
The rain came
then it came some more.”

Chomp the Chimp returns in this gentle story centered on a rainy day in the jungle, where familiar routines slow and small moments take on new meaning.

About the Story

Chomp the Chimp and the Rainy Day is the second book in The Adventures of Chomp the Chimp children’s picture book series. The book follows Chomp as an exciting morning of play takes an unexpected turn. When the sky darkens and thunder rumbles, Chomp isn’t sure what to think. As the rain begins to fall, Chomp discovers puddles to splash in, friends to laugh with, and a whole forest that feels different but still full of fun.

Rooted in principles of early childhood psychology, told in gentle rhyme, and paired with soft, expressive illustrations, Chomp the Chimp and the Rainy Day helps young readers navigate uncertainty without fear by learning that change brings with it its own surprises and rewards. With a focus on adaptability and resilience, the book is intended for children ages 3-7 and geared towards family shared reading, bedtime reading, as well as classroom use.
